For online requests, the process is slightly different. First, the requestor will need to create an account on the office website. Once the account has been created, the user can log in and begin the request process. The requesting party will be asked to provide basic information about themselves and the record they are requesting, after which they will be prompted to pay the required fee.

After the payment has been processed, the request will be sent to the Office of Vital Statistics, where it will be fulfilled and the requested record will be sent to the requestor.

The eligibility requirements for obtaining these records is as follows:

  • The person requesting the birth certificate must be 18 years of age or older. If the requestor is not the registrant, then they must provide documentation to prove their relationship to the registrant.
  • The person requesting the death certificate must be a immediate family member of the deceased, as defined by Nevada law. If the requestor is not an immediate family member, then they must provide documentation to prove their relationship to the deceased.

Both types of records are available to members of the public for a fee of $25.00 per record. Records will be provided in either English or Spanish, depending on the preference of the requestor.
