How to Visit a Washoe County Inmate

Inmate visitation at the Washoe County Detention Facility is conducted via a communication system that provides video visitations, among other options. To use the visitation system, visitors will need to create an account and sign up with the SmartInmate service. Visitors are required to provide a photo when signing up, as well as a valid email address.

To use the on-site video visiting option, visitors must be at least 18 years or older. Guests are required to schedule visits at least 24 hours in advance. Visitations are provided between 8:00 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. from Monday through Friday. Visitors are required to provide a valid government-issued ID.
