The Nevada Department of Public Safety publishes annual reports containing the crime statistics reported by the various law enforcement agencies including the Reno Police Department. How to Obtain Police Reports and Arrest Records

Reno Police Department police reports and arrest records can be obtained online by registering and submitting a request via their records center portal. The portal allows requesters to submit records requests and pay for them online. The system also allows requesters to receive updates on the status of their requests. Copies of these records cost 0.05$ per page in cash, credit card and checks, and money orders payable to the City of Reno. Reno inmate records can be found by visiting the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office website and using the inmate search tool provided. How Do I Visit an inmate in Reno City Jail?

Inmates for Reno can be visited at the Washoe County Detention Facility operated by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office. The facility provides both on-site and remote visitation using the remote visiting system known as iWebVisit. This system allows a visit to conduct a remote visit with a general population inmate at the detention facility by creating an account at the iWebVisit website. General population inmates are allowed one non-contact on-site video visit or two twenty-minute remote visits every day. Visitation occurs on Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 11:00 am and from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Weekend visits are on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30 am to 11:00 am and from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. What are Reno Vital Records?

Reno vital records are the documents recording the life events that have occurred in the city. This includes all births, deaths, marriages, and divorces that have occurred in the city jurisdiction. These records can be obtained from their respective custodians like the district court and the local health department. Where and How to Get Marriage Records in Reno

Reno marriage records are mostly public records unless they have been classified or sealed by a court order. If the records are classified then they can only be requested by one of the couples on the record and any of their authorized representatives. Where and How to Find Reno Birth Records

Reno birth certificates can be obtained from either the Washoe County Health District or the Nevada Department of Health - Office of Vital Statistics. In Nevada, birth and death records are confidential and cannot be requested by the general public. These records can only be requested by qualified applicants who will be required to prove their identity.

Obtaining Copies of Reno Birth Certificates

The Washoe County Health District processes requests for birth records. These records can be obtained either by mail or in person. To obtain the record in person, the requester will be required to fill the birth certificate application completely. The completed application, a valid photo identification, proof of need, and the appropriate fee should be brought to the health district at:

The price of the birth record is $25 per copy in a check or money order made payable to the Washoe County Health District. If the record is not found the requester is still charged a $10 search fee. Requests are processed in an estimated 4 weeks from receipt.

Where and How to Find Reno Death Records

The Washoe County Health District and the Nevada Department of Vital Statistics are the custodians of Reno Death Records. Like birth records, death records are not public records and may only be requested by qualified applicants. If the requester is not a qualified applicant the health district will only be able to verify the existence of the record. Reno death records can be obtained either by mail or in person. To obtain the record in person from the Washoe County Health District, the requester needs to bring the following to the health district:

  • A completed death record application
  • A copy of a valid photo ID
  • Proof of need/ reason record is being requested
  • The appropriate fee of $25 per copy
